Privacy policy

Quick Tax Calc is built to need as little of your data as a website can. This page describes exactly what is and is not collected when you use quicktaxcalc.co.uk, and your rights under UK data-protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

1. Who we are

quicktaxcalc.co.uk is operated by Income Tax Ltd, a company registered in England (company no. 11307936), of Witney Business & Innovation Centre, Witney, Oxfordshire OX29 7DX, United Kingdom, the controller for any personal data described here. 2. The numbers you type stay in your browser

The calculator runs entirely on your device. The salary, pension, student-loan and allowance details you enter are not sent to our servers, not stored by us, and not visible to us. There is no account to create and no form to submit.

One honest nuance: to make results shareable, your inputs are reflected into the page address (for example /?salary=30000&country=scotland). That address exists only in your browser unless you choose to copy and share it, anyone you send it to can see the numbers in it, so share links knowingly.

3. What is collected

• Nothing you have to give us. No signup fields, no email capture, no newsletter, no tracking pixels.
• Standard server logs.Our hosting infrastructure (Vercel Inc.) briefly records the technical basics of each request, IP address, user agent, requested page , for security and reliability, as virtually every website’s host does. We do not use these logs to identify visitors.
• An area hint for the house-price section.The affordability section suggests your rough area from the network-level region of your request (the kind of “you appear to be near Leeds” hint any website’s edge network provides). It is computed per request, never stored, and you can change the area freely.
• Precise location, only if you ask.If you press “Detect my area”, your browser asks for permission and your coordinates are sent once to postcodes.io (an open UK geocoding service) to find your local authority. We never see or store the coordinates; decline the permission and everything still works.

We use no analytics service and set no cookies. If that ever changes, this page and the cookie notice will change first, with a new date at the top.

4. Lawful basis

The only processing is the infrastructure logging described above, which relies on legitimate interests (keeping the site secure and available). Nothing else is processed, so no other basis is needed.

5. Third parties

Two, each doing one job. Vercel Inc. hosts the site and serves its pages globally from edge locations, including outside the UK, processing request data as our infrastructure provider under its data-processing terms with standard contractual safeguards for international transfers. postcodes.ioreceives your coordinates only if you use “Detect my area”, as described above. No other company receives anything.

6. Retention

We hold no personal data, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Host request logs are retained briefly by Vercel per its platform defaults and then expire.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data, object to processing, and complain to the regulator. Given the model above there is normally nothing held to act on, but any request to info@income-tax.co.ukgets a reply within one month. The UK regulator is the Information Commissioner’s Office , ico.org.uk.

8. Children

The site is a general-audience information tool. It collects nothing from anyone, children included.

9. Changes

If our practices change (for example, if we add privacy-respecting analytics) this page will be updated before the change goes live, with the date above refreshed.
