Terms of use
Last updated 5 August 2026
These terms govern your use of quicktaxcalc.co.uk (“the site”). By using the site you accept them. They are short because the service is simple: a free calculator and reference pages, with no accounts and no payments.
1. What the site is, and who you deal with
Quick Tax Calc provides estimates of UK take-home pay and related figures, calculated from published government rates, plus explanatory guides. It is operated by Income Tax Ltd, a company registered in England (company no. 11307936), of Witney Business & Innovation Centre, Witney, Oxfordshire OX29 7DX, United Kingdom, and offered free of charge. “We” in these terms means Income Tax Ltd.
2. Estimates, not advice, the clause that matters
Everything the site shows is an estimate for general information. It is not tax advice, financial advice, legal advice or accountancy services, and no adviser–client relationship is created by using it. Estimates assume the standard tax code, a single employment and category A National Insurance unless you set otherwise, and real payslips can differ, tax codes, benefits in kind, payroll timing and personal circumstances all move the figures. Do not make financial decisions on the strength of the site alone; for a definitive answer, check your tax code with HMRC or take regulated advice.
3. Accuracy and sources
We verify the rates and thresholds the engine uses against GOV.UK and show the verification date and sources on the site. We work hard to keep the calculations correct, but we do not warrant that the site is error-free, and rates can change after a verification date. If you spot a discrepancy, please tell us at info@income-tax.co.uk, we treat accuracy reports as the most important mail we get.
4. Acceptable use
Use the site normally: in a browser, at human speed, for working out pay. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, misrepresent its output as an official HMRC calculation, or republish the site’s pages wholesale as your own. Quoting figures with a link is welcome.
5. Intellectual property
The site’s design, text and code are ours or licensed to us. The underlying tax rates and rules are public information and belong to no one.
6. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on estimates, from decisions made using the site, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
7. Availability
The site is provided free and without an uptime commitment. We may change, suspend or withdraw it (or any feature) at any time.
8. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update this page and its date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, though if you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK you keep the protection of your local law.
